Rooms
Four kinds, all on one level

Range
Ten rooms on the north side, looking at the range across a strip of scrub that is mown twice a year and otherwise left.
Stone on one wall, a bed on a timber platform, and a window sized to suit the view.

Verandah
Twelve rooms opening onto the verandah on the pool side, with the stone bathrooms that were put in during the 2014 work.
With three and a half metres of roof over the door, these rooms can keep the curtains open in December.
Creek
Four rooms at the west end, nearest the dry bed of the creek, which fills about three times a decade and is a remarkable thing to watch when it does.
They get the last of the afternoon and are the warmest rooms in the building at six in the evening.
Yard
Four rooms off the service yard with no outlook to speak of, which is why they are the ones offered to people arriving late off the Ghan.
They are also the quietest and coolest, and a few regulars ask for them by number.
The same everywhere
- Air conditioning in every room and a ceiling fan as well, because the nights in July drop to about four degrees and the days in January do not.
- Every room is on the ground. There is not a step anywhere in the building except the one into the pool.
- No television. There is one in the bar, usually showing cricket to nobody.
- Blockout curtains throughout, which at this latitude are a necessity.
